Globally, water crisis is increasing in both urban and rural areas due a variety of reasons including population growth, climate change, groundwater depletion and poor management. Conserving and recycling water is an urgent requirement.

Washing machines is a critical need of households. They use between 60 to120 litres of water for every load. Annual water usage is 20,000 to 40,000 litres for a household. As water scarcity increases, this needs a solution.

The Invention

  • It is a closed system that filters, disinfects and reuses the water
  • It recycles about 75% to 90% of the water, depending on the type of load
  • The waste from the machine is solid waste

Types of Solutions

  • A standalone washing machine as an integrated unit
  • An add-on to existing washing machines, for a low-cost solution
